Pastor Stephen Zimmerman

Pastor Stephen Zimmerman was born in Texas and raised in Texas and Oklahoma. He was born into a pastor’s home and spent nearly 2 years as a young boy as a missionary to Ghana, West Africa. Though he grew up in church, it wasn’t until the age 13, that Pastor Zimmerman accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior while attending church camp. One year later, Pastor Zimmerman surrendered to preach.

In 2006, Pastor Zimmerman joined the United States Air Force and served 6 years on active duty. During this time, he served two tours in the Middle East and was awarded a Commendation Medal, seven Air Medals, and the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 2006, Pastor Zimmerman also met his wife Leanna, a California native, and they were married in Spring 2007. Leanna is a 2003 graduate of West Coast Baptist College. They have four children, two girls and two boys.

Pastor Zimmerman is a graduate of Heartland Baptist Bible College. After graduation, he served an internship at Whittier Lane Baptist Church of New Castle, Indiana. It was during this time in Indiana that God began working on his heart to start a church in Northwest Tucson, Arizona. Answering God’s call, Pastor Zimmerman and his family moved to Tucson in February 2015 to begin Lifeway Baptist Church.
